Christopher Fitzgerald, George Hearn, Paulo Szot, Deborah Voigt, et al. Set for Collegiate Chorale’s 2010-2011 Season

The Collegiate Chorale has announced selections for its 2010-2011 season, which will feature a number of Broadway and opera performers.

The season will begin with Brahms’ Alto Rhapsody, Op.53 and A German Requiem, to be performed on October 13, at 7pm, at Carnegie Hall. James Bagwell will conduct, and the cast will feature Stephanie Blythe, Erin Morley, and Eric Owens, with the American Symphony Orchestra.

George Hearn and Christopher Fitzgerald will star as Stuyvesant and Tenpin, respectively, in a concert version of Knickerbocker Holiday, with music by Kurt Weill and books and lyrics by Maxwell Anderson, to be presented January 25-26, 2011 at 8pm at Alice Tully Hall. Ted Sperling will direct, with James Bagwell conducting the American Symphony Orchestra.

We Remember Them: Choral Music from the Camps and the Ghettos will be presented on March 10, at 7pm at Central Synagogue. This concert of choral works by composers who perished in the Holocaust, will be hosted by Angela Buchdahl, and feature the Collegiate Chorale, conducted by James Bagwell, with Kenneth Bowen, pianist.

Something Wonderful – A Night of Broadway with Deborah Voigt will be presented on May 19, at 7pm at Carnegie Hall. Voigt will be joined by special guest artist Paolo Szot. Ted Sperling will conduct the American Symphony Orchestra. The Chorale’s Annual Spring Benefit follows the concert.

In addition, the Collegiate Chorale will also return to the renowned Verbier (Switzerland) Festival in July 2011.
