Christine Ebersole, Michael Feinstein, Kelsey Grammer, Stephen Sondheim, et al. Set for Upcoming Barnes & Noble Events

Barnes and Noble has announced an updated list of events in October and November in its Lincoln Triangle and Union Square stores.

Kelsey Grammer, Douglas Hodge and other cast members from Broadway’s La Cage aux Folles will offer highlights from the musical and sign copies of the new cast recording of the show at Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle on October 14 at 4pm. The event will also feature four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein, who wrote the show’s book.

Cast members from Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson will also perform and sign copies of the original cast recording of the musical on October 26 at 4:30pm.

Other appearances and CD signings at the store will include singer Michael Feinstein (October 18, 5pm), as well as Doug Adams for The Music of The Lord of The Rings Films (October 7, 5pm), Loston Harris for Why Try to Change Me Now? (October 11, 6pm), Joan Jaffe for Joan Jaffe Sings Funny… (October 20, 6pm), and Annie Kozuch for her CD Here With You (October 27, 6pm).

Other special events at the store will include two panel discussions held in tandem with the New York Musical Theatre Festival. On October 5 at 5pm, TheaterMania contributor Peter Filichia will moderate a panel entitled Our Turn: Women Who Write Musicals and on October 12 at 5pm, Isaac Robert Hurwitz will moderate Show Tunes for Today: Modern Musical Influences. Guests for both panels will be announced at later date.

Christine Ebersole, Jim Dale, Steve Ross, and Maria Aitken will join Barry Day to discuss and perform Noel Coward’s work on October 13 at 7:30pm. The event is being held in tandem with the release of The Noel Coward Reader, edited by Day, who will also sign copies of the book. Other appearances and book signings include one by Mike Birbiglia for Sleepwalk with Me (October 12, 7:30pm), and Oscar Andrew Hammerstein for The Hammersteins: A Musical Theatre Family (October 14, 7:30pm).

Theater-related events at the store will also include a Cabaret Convention Preview on October 1 at 5pm; and a special discussion about the New Victory Theatre’s The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe, to be offered on October 28 at 7:30pm.

In November, Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle will host book-signing events with Marlo Thomas for Growing Up Laughing (November 4, 7:30pm); Sam Irvin for his new biography of Kay Thompson (November 9, 7:30pm); David Maraniss for When Pride Still Mattered: A Life of Vince Lombardi, which has inspired the current Broadway play Lombardi (November 12, 5pm); and Stefanie Powers — who will appear at Feinstein’s at the Loews Regency that month — for her new memoir, One From the Heart (November 15, 12:30pm).

Other upcoming Barnes & Noble events include a conversation with Stephen Sondheim to be held on November 10 at 7pm at the Barnes & Noble at Union Square. The event will be held in conjunction with the release of the book, Finishing the Hat: Collected Lyrics (1954-1991) with Attendant Comments, Principles, Heresies, Grudges, Whines and Anecdotes.

The Union Square store will also host events with Lewis Black for I’m Dreaming of a Black Christmas (November 3, 7:30pm); Amy Sedaris for Simple Times: Crafts of Poor People (November 4, 7pm); David Sedaris for Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk (November 8, 7pm); Nora Ephron for I Remember Nothing: and Other Reflections (November 9, 7pm); and Steve Martin for An Object of Beauty (November 23, 7pm).
