“This is Fosse, honey. We don’t do ‘one-two-threes,'” snapped Christina Applegate as no-nonsense dance teacher and Bob Fosse specialist Jillian Chizz on the October 13 edition of Saturday Night Live, which the actress hosted.

The sketch, which closed out the broadcast, also featured SNL players Kenan Thompson, Taran Killam, Bobby Moynihan, and Nasim Pedrad as her students, who just didn’t understand how words like “ka-donk” and “skidooche” could translate into Fosse-style dance moves.

“So a ‘kadook’ is a ‘three’? That don’t make no sense,” replied the bewildered Thompson.

Applegate, who goes full-throttle into the role, even got to show off her own impressive technique, which she displayed in the 2005 Broadway revival of Sweet Charity, which featured original choreography by Fosse, and for which she received a Tony Award nomination.
