Christie Brinkley will now begin performances as Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of Chicago, at the Ambassador Theatre on Friday, April 8, instead of April 4.

The performer was sidelined with a minor muscle injury this week, and was forced to miss three days of rehearsal. She is scheduled to stay in the show for 11 weeks.

One of the world’s first supermodels, Brinkley made her acting debut in 1983 opposite Chevy Chase in the hit feature film National Lampoon’s Vacation and also appeared in its 1997 sequel, Vegas Vacation and on NBC’s Mad About You.

Chicago has been directed by Walter Bobbie and choreographed by Ann Reinking. The creative team includes John Lee Beatty (scenic design), William Ivey Long (costume design), Ken Billington (lighting design), and Scott Lehrer (sound design).

The production also stars Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Brent Barrett as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and Roz Ryan as Matron “Mama” Morton.
