Chernus, Gummer, Naughton, Shamos Set for Hunting and Gathering

Michael Chernus, Mamie Gummer, Keira Naughton, and Jeremy Shamos will star in the world premiere of Brooke Berman’s Hunting and Gathering, to be presented by Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters from January 22-March 1. The production, to open officially on February 3, will be directed by Leigh Silverman.

The play follows four interconnected New Yorkers through their thwarted attempts to find their place — without compromise. Berman’s previous plays include Smashing and The Triple Happiness.

The creative team will include David Korins (sets), Miranda Hoffman (costumes), Ben Stanton (lights), Robert Kaplowitz (sound), and Melonie Rademaker (music consultant).
Silverman’s many directorial credits include Well, Blue Door, and The Beebo Brinker Chrionicles.

Chernus is currently starring in Rag and Bone at Rattlestick Theater; his past credits include Adam Rapp’s American Sligo, Essential Self-Defense, and Finer Noble Gases. Gummer has starred Off-Broadway in Mr. Marmalade and The Water’s Edge. Naughton’s credits include Lucy and Indoor/Outdoor. Shamos has has starred on Broadway in The Rivals and Reckless, and Off-Broadway in such works as 100 Saints You Should Know, Gutenberg! the Musical, and Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme.
