Charles Busch and Julie Halston to Host TNC’s Love ‘n Courage Benefit

Charles Busch and Julie Halston will emcee the 3rd Annual Love ‘n Courage Benefit at 7pm on Monday, February 13 at Theater for the New City (155 First Avenue). The event will benefit both Theater for the New City’s Emerging Playwrights Program as well as Southern Rep in New Orleans, which was devastated by fire when its electrics caught fire during Hurricane Katrina. The theater is now closed and aims to reopen in late May.
Performers at the event, which will include a revue of songs by Broadway composer E.Y. “Yip” Harburg, will include jazz singer Troi Bechet, Broadway star Stephen Bogardus, and cabaret star Mary Cleere Haran. Legendary actress Kitty Carlisle Hart will also be on hand to address the audience.
