Chandra Wilson to Join Broadway Chicago Cast in June

Three-time Emmy Award nominee Chandra Wilson will join the Broadway company of Chicago, currently playing the Ambassador Theater, June 8-July 5, in the role of “Mama” Morton.

Chicago features a score by John Kander and the late Fred Ebb, including such hits as “All That Jazz,” “Mister Cellophane,” “Razzle Dazzle,” and “Nowadays.” The production is directed by Walter Bobbie with choreography by Ann Reinking. The musical won six 1997 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical.

Wilson is best known for her portrayal of Dr. Miranda Bailey on Grey’s Anatomy, which has earned her three Emmy nominations, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and three NAACP Image Awards. Her Broadway credits include Caroline, or Change, Avenue Q, and On the Town. Additional theater credits include The Good Times Are Killing Me, for which she won a Theatre World Award, the Miracle Worker, and Paper Moon: The Musical.
