Cerveris, Rose, et al. Set for Shakespeare Goes to the Opera

Tony Award winners Michael Cerveris and Anika Noni Rose will join Metropolitan Opera singers Andrzej Dobber, Dmitri Pittas, Olviia Gorra, Raul Melo, and Courtney Mills for the Shakespeare Society’s Shakespeare Goes to the Opera, to take place at 6:30pm on Monday, September 17 at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College.

The event will feature scenes and arias from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Othello, and Macbeth. Adrian Noble, the former artistic director of the Royal Shakespeare Company and the director of the Metropolitan Opera’s upcoming production of Macbeth, will provide commentary. Craig Ruttenberg, the Metropolitan’s director of music administration, will be the evening’s pianist.
