Cerveris, Easton, Huffman, MacDonald, et al. Set for NYCLU Benefit at Symphony Space

Tony Award winners Michael Cerveris, Richard Easton, Cady Huffman, and Audra MacDonald will be among the stars participating in Broadway Stands Up for Freedom!, a benefit concert for the youth programs of the New York Civil Liberties Union, to be held at 7:30pm on Monday, July 24 at Symphony Space.

The show will also star Erich Bergen, Brenda Braxton, Todd Buonopane, Kevin Chamberlin, Barrett Foa, Jenn Gambatese, Amanda Green, Leah Hocking, Cheyenne Jackson, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Sara Kramer, Thos Shipley, and Liana Stampur. The evening will be directed by Daniel Goldstein, with musical direction by Seth Rudetsky.

Tony Kushner and Donna Lieberman, the executive director of the ACLU, will co-chair the event. In addition to musical performances, the winning entries of the New York Civil Liberties Union’s annual Student Expression contest — which includes poetry and essays — will be read by special surprise guests.
