CBS Will Continue to Telecast Tonys Through 2010 logo
The American Theatre Wing has announced that CBS television, which has had a 27-year relationship with the Tony Awards, will continue to offer three-hour broadcasts of the awards show through 2010 -- including 2006, the 60th anniversary of the honors.

The ATW has also announced that Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss will be executive producers of the 2004 Tony Awards and that Weiss will serve as the broadcast's director for his fourth year. (He won an Emmy Award for his work on the 2002 telecast.)

The 2004 Tony ceremony will be telecast live from Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 6, from 8pm-11pm. The eligibility cut-off date for the awards this season is Wednesday, May 5, and nominations will be announced on Monday, May 10.

According to Jed Bernstein, president of the League of American Theatres and Producers, "This is a great day for the Tony Awards. We are bringing on board two New York based executive producers who have the vitality and enthusiasm to help reinvent the television program." For more information, visit
