Casting Completed for National Tour of Chita Rivera: The Dancer’s Life

Complete casting has been announced for the upcoming national tour of Chita Rivera: The Dancer’s Life, which will kick off at the Aronoff Theatre in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 19.

Joining Rivera in the show will be Richard Amaro, Lloyd Culbreath, Raymond Del Barrio, Carolyn Doherty, Pascale Faye, Ramon Flowers, Richard Montoya, April L. Nixon, and Jennifer Savelli. Lisa Mordente, Rivera’s daughter, will serve as the show’s swing and dance captain; her Broadway credits include The Who’s Tommy, Marlowe, and Platinum.

Written by Terrence McNally and directed and choreographed by Graciela Daniele, Chita Rivera: The Dancer’s Life celebrates the life and career of Rivera, the two-time Tony Award winner and Kennedy Center honoree. She has starred in such musicals as West Side Story, Bye Bye Birdie, Chicago, and Kiss of the Spider Woman.

The show played on Broadway from November 23, 2005 to February 19, 2006.
