Casting Announced for Irish Arts Center’s Bogboy; Fall 2011 Schedule Announced

The Irish Arts Center has announced its programming for fall 2011.
Among the highlights on the schedule is Deirdre Kinahan’s Bogboy, to run September 7-25. Directed by Jo Mangan, the play centers on a heroin addict who leaves the chaos of her life in Dublin after meeting a reclusive local farmer, whom she believes might help her find a more idyllic life in the country. The company will feature Steve Blount, Noelle Brown, Sorcha Fox and Emmett Kirwan.
The Center also plans to offer a one-night-only concert A Tribute to Harrigan and Hart: The Original Men Who Owned Broadway, a retrospective of the nineteenth century showmen’s work, that will be presented at Symphony Space on October 13. Among the artists scheduled to appear are Dana Lyn, Susan McKeown, Poor Baby Bree, John Roberts, Murray Callahan, Chris Simmons, Dave Ruch, and Maureen Murphy, along with Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, The Green Fields of America, and The Washington Square Harp and Shamrock Orchestra.
Also on the schedule is an appearance by Olivier Award-winning step-dancer Colin Dunne in Out of Time (October 19-22), which will be presented at the Baryshnikov Arts Center, running October 19-22; and the holidaytime An Irish Christmas (December 7-16).
