Casting has been announced for the new musical play, The Magdalene, to play Off-Broadway at the Theatre at St. Clements, with previews beginning June 14, with an opening on June 27. Richard Burk will direct, with creative consultation from Tony Award winner Richard Maltby, Jr.

Featuring music by James Olm with a book by Olm and J.C. Hanley, the show is inspired by the recent discovery of alternative biblical gospels in which Mary Magdalene is not the prostitute, but instead the most enlightened of all disciples and the Apostle of all Apostles.

Lindsie VanWinkle will play the title character, with the cast also featuring John Antony, Eugene Barry-Hill, Xander Chauncey, Caleb Damschroder, Devin DeSantis, Faith Engen, Lauren Fijol, Osborn Focht, Laura Huizenga, Patrick Oliver Jones, Evangelia Kingsley, and Shad Olsen.

Scenic and lighting design is by Sean McIntosh, with costumes by Darrell Wagner.
