Cassidy, Daniels, Dixon, Hart, Ragusa, et al. Cast in Musicals in Mufti Grind

The York Theatre Company has announced casting for Grind, to be presented in a concert staging as part of its acclaimed Musicals in Mufti series. Featuring music by Larry Grossman, lyrics by Ellen Fitzhugh, original book by Fay Kanin and a new book by Brad Rouse, Grind will play the Theatre at Saint Peter’s, June 13-15. Annette Jolles will direct, and Steven Marzullo will serve as music director.

The musical tells the story of an interracial backstage romance at a seedy 1930s Chicago burlesque house.

The cast will include Bob Ari (Harry), Joe Cassidy (Doyle), Nikki Renee Daniels (Satin), Brandon Victor Dixon (Leroy), Wendy Fox (Stripper), Chasten Harmon (Clementine), Linda Hart (Romaine), Larry Keith (Gus), Max Quinlan (Juggler), Michele Ragusa (Lizzie), Christopher Sergeeff (Juggler), and Jasmin Walker (Ruby).

The Mufti season, all devoted to works by Grossman, will continue with Goodtime Charley (June 27-29), which focuses on Joan of Arc and King Charles VII and a special revue of Grossman’s songs (July 11-13), which will kick off the York’s NEW2NY concert series to run in July and August.
