Carol Burnett to Return to All My Children in September

Stage and screen star Carol Burnett will make a series of guest appearances as Verla Grubbs on ABC’s daytime drama All My Children in September, according to EW.com. The 41-year-old daytime drama will go off the air on September 23.


Burnett first debuted as Verla in 1983, and also appeared on the show in 1995 and 2005. She will reportedly appear opposite All My Children leading lady Susan Lucci.


Burnett’s Broadway credits include Once Upon a Mattress, Fade Out-Fade In, Putting it Together, and Moon Over Buffalo. She also co-wrote the autobiographical play Hollywood Arms with her daughter Carrie Hamilton.


She is best known for her award-winning television show The Carol Burnett Show. In addition, Burnett won an Emmy Award for her guest role on Mad About You and guest starred on Glee.
