Carmello, Davis, and White Join Cast of The Broadway Musicals of 1978

The previously announced lineup of stars for the upcoming concert The Broadway Musicals of 1978 at The Town Hall has been augmented by Carolee Carmello, who is Tony Award-nominated for her performance in Lestat; Mary Bond Davis, Hairspray‘s original Motormouth Maybelle; and Lari White, the three-time Grammy Award winner who co-starred in the Johnny Cash musical Ring of Fire.

Part of the critically acclaimed “Broadway by the Year” series at The Town Hall, the concert will showcase songs from musicals that opened on Broadway in 1978, including Ain’t Misbehavin’, Ballroom, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Eubie!, On the Twenthieth Century, Runaways, and Working. The performance will take place on Monday, June 19 at 8pm.

Says Scott Siegel, creator-writer-host of the series, “I’m still not finished hiring terrific talent.” Already announced to perform in the concert are Bryan Batt (who will also direct), Chuck Cooper, Felicia Finley, Julie Garnye, Nancy Opel, Noah Racey, Christine Pedi, and Lennie Watts. The Town Hall is located at 123 West 43rd Street in Manhattan.
