Carey Mulligan to Join Michael Fassbender in Shame Film

Academy Award nominee and Broadway veteran Carey Mulligan will co-star in the forthcoming film Shame, according to Variety. The film features a screenplay by Steve McQueen and Abi Morgan.

Shame centers on a 30-something man named Brandon (played by Michael Fassbender), who lives in New York and is unable to manage his sex life. Mulligan will play Brandon’s sister, Sissy.

Mulligan appeared as Nina in The Seagull in London and on Broadway, earning a Drama Desk Award nomination. She received an Oscar nomination for her work in An Education, and her other films include Wall Street: Money Never Dies, Never Let Me Go and the forthcoming Drive.
