Carey Mulligan, Nine, et al. Win D.C. Film Critics Circle Awards

Carey Mulligan, who starred in the recent Broadway revival of The Seagull, has been named Best Actress by the D.C. Critics Film Circle for her work in An Education, according to EW.com.

The film version of the musical Nine, directed by Rob Marshall, picked up an award for Best Art Direction.

Four films received multiple awards: Up in the Air was named Best Film, and earned Best Actor for George Clooney and Best Adapted Screenplay; The Hurt Locker earned Best Director for Kathryn Bigelow and Best Ensemble; Inglourious Basterds earned Best Supporting Actor for Christoph Waltz as well as Best Original Screenplay; and Precious earned Best Supporting Actress for Mo’Nique and Best Breakthrough Performance for Gabourey Sibide.
