Candide has music by Leonard Bernstein and a book by Hugh Wheeler, adapted from Voltaire, with lyrics by Richard Wilbur and additional lyrics by Bernstein, John Latouche, and Stephen Sondheim. This production, directed by Prince and choreographed by Patricia Birch, was last seen at NYCO in 2005; it features sets by Clarke Dunham, costumes by Judith Dolan, lighting by Ken Billington, and sound design by Abe Jacob.

There will be 14 performances of Candide, April 8-20. Casting is yet to be announced. Refunds or exchanges are available to patrons who had Ragtime as part of their subscription package; for questions regarding subscriptions, phone 212-496-0600.

Single tickets for New York City Opera’s 2007-2008 season will go on sale on Monday, August 6.
