Burgess, Colella, Yazbeck et al. to Star in York’s Sailing Against the Current

Tituss Burgess, Jenn Colella, Judith Moore, Tony Yazbeck, and Kirsten Wyatt will star in York Theatre Company’s NEO Spotlight concert, Sailing Against the Current: Songs by Robert Bartley and Danny Whitman, to be presented May 12 at 7:30 PM at the Theatre at Saint Peter’s. Bartley will direct, with Chris Tilley serving as music director.

Songwriters Bartley and Whitman are the duo behind the popular Broadway Backwards annual event. Their musical Dance With Me, was a 2007 NAMT finalist and in June will be included in The Festival of New American Musicals in Los Angeles. Whitman’s children’s musical Tales of Custard the Dragon is currently at The Algonquin Theatre in New York City, directed by Bartley.
