The Broadway production of Hair will partner with hair care company Bumble and bumble for a “Cut-In” at its uptown location (146 East 56th Street), on Monday, May 24 from Noon to 4pm.

During this open to the public event, Bumble and bumble stylists will be on hand to give free hair-cuts to attendees. The hair trimmings will be donated to Matter of Trust, an environmental non-profit that has helped clean up oil spills since 1998 by reusing donated hair clippings from hair salons, barber shops, pet groomers, and wool farmers. Stuffing this donated hair into donated nylon stockings, this organization is creating highly absorbent booms to help contain the oil crisis in the Gulf of Mexico.

Cast members from the show will be on-hand throughout the afternoon to cheer-on participants, and there will be hourly raffles for tickets to the Broadway production.

Winner of the 2009 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, the production is directed by Diane Paulus and choreographed by Karole Armitage. Hair features a book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado and music by Galt MacDermot.

The current Broadway cast of Hair includes Annaleigh Ashford (Jeanie), Justin Badger (Tribe), Jeannette Bayardelle (Dionne), Nicholas Belton (Swing), Larkin Bogan (Tribe), Natalie Bradshaw (Tribe), Catherine Brookman (Tribe), Briana Carlson-Goodman (Swing), Diana DeGarmo (Sheila), Antwayn Hopper (Tribe), Erika Jerry (Tribe), Jay Armstrong Johnson (Swing), Rachel Bay Jones (Mom), Mykal Kilgore (Tribe), Josh Lamon (Margaret Mead/Dad), Nicole Lewis (Swing), Anastacia McClesky (Tribe), Vanessa Ray (Crissy), Paris Remillard (Tribe), Kyle Riabko (Claude), Arbender Robinson (Swing), Kate Rockwell (Tribe), Cailan Rose (Tribe), Rashidra Scott (Tribe), Jen Sese (Tribe), Wallace Smith (Hud), Lawrence Stallings (Tribe), Terrance Thomas (Tribe), Jason Wooten (Woof), Ace Young (Berger) and Emma Zaks (Swing).
