Broadway's Cinderella Will Welcome Paige Faure and Nancy Opel in Leading Roles This June

The Broadway production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella will welcome a pair of new leading ladies — Broadway veterans Paige Faure and Nancy Opel — beginning June 13 and June 30, respectively. Faure, currently appearing in Bullets Over Broadway, is set to take over the title role from Carly Rae Jepsen, whose engagement in the musical concludes June 8. Opel takes on the role of Madame, Cinderella's wicked stepmother, replacing Fran Drescher, whose engagement concludes June 29.

Faure and Opel will star in the musical through September 7. Faure, whose stage credits also include How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Honeymoon in Vegas, will then lead the show's national tour, beginning performances in Providence, Rhode Island, on October 10. Opel received Drama Desk, Drama League, Outer Critics Circle, and Lortel nominations for her performance in The Toxic Avenger, and she was nominated for a Tony for her work in Urinetown.

With a score by Rodgers and Hammerstein, the fairy tale of Cinderella receives a modern twist by Tony-nominated playwright Douglas Carter Beane. Mark Brokaw directs.

Cinderella also stars Joe Carroll as Prince Topher. The principal company includes Peter Bartlett, Stephanie Gibson, Todd Buonopane, Phumzile Sojola, Victoria Clark, and Ann Harada. Jill Abramovitz, Kristine Bendul, Callan Bergmann, Kaitlyn Davidson, Leslie Donna Flesner, Shonica Gooden, Kendal Hartse, Jessica Hershberg, Laura Irion, Brandon Leffler, Sam Lips, Nathan Lucrezio, Andy Mills, Linda Mugleston, Peter Nelson, Jeff Pew, Adam Rogers, Kirstin Tucker, Cody Williams, and Branch Woodman complete the cast.
