Composer Andrew Lippa and book writer John August's Big Fish officially opens on Broadway tonight at the Neil Simon Theatre — making its New York debut.

Big Fish is based on the 2003 film of the same name, which August wrote based on 1998 novel by Daniel Wallace. It is an epic tale that centers on Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest. Edward's incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him, but his son, Will, who is about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father's stories.

The production stars Norbert Leo Butz (Catch Me If You Can) as Edward Bloom, Kate Baldwin (Giant) as Sandra Bloom, Bobby Steggert (Giant) as Will Bloom, Krystal Joy Brown (Leap Of Faith) as Josephine Bloom, and Anthony Pierini (Mary Poppins) and Zachary Unger (Chaplin) alternating as Young Will.
