Billy Porter, Kate Rockwell, and more put some burlesque in their Broadway for a good cause.
Broadway stars gathered last night at
Roseland Ballroom for two performances of
Broadway Bares 23: United Strips of America, the latest installment of the annual burlesque series benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
Created by Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots), this year’s edition was directed by Nick Kenkel (Evita). Recent Tony Award winner Billy Porter (Kinky Boots), two-time Tony Award nominee Christopher Sieber (Shrek), Kate Rockwell (Bring It On), and more Broadway favorites performed alongside 200 of New York’s sexiest dancers in a “raucous road trip, exploring the United States.” The Skivvies (Nick Cearley and Lauren Molina) were also on hand, doing what they do best.
