Broadway Sings Elton to Benefit BC/EFA

Just as Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida is preparing to open at the Palace, a gala concert featuring some of E.J.’s biggest song hits will be held at the New Amsterdam Theater (home of John and Rice’s The Lion King) on Monday, April 3 as a joint benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

The event will be hosted by Broadway, film, and TV stars Nathan Lane and Christine Baranski. Performers scheduled to appear at the event, will include: Betty Buckley, Linda Eder, Jennifer Holiday, Sandra Bernhard, Orfeh, Sam Harris, Ann Duquensay, Victor Garber, Andrea McArdle, Lea DeLaria, Heather Headley, Sherie Rene Scott, Adam Pascal, Jeremy Kushnier, Mario Canton, Deborah Gibson and Jason Raize. This stellar cast of talent will be performing some of John’s biggest hits, including such songs as “Rocket Man,” “Benny and the Jets,” “Daniel,” “Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road,” and “The Circle of Life.” The concert will be followed by a VIP party for the performers, benefactors, and sponsors at Barney’s New York (Madison Avenue at 61st Street).
