Julia Stiles will join previously announced stars Dane Cook and Josh Hamilton in the Broadway production of Neil LaBute’s Fat Pig, which will begin previews on April 12 at the Belasco Theatre. LaBute will direct the show, which will open officially on April 26.

The play, which premiered Off-Broadway in 2004, involves a romance between a conventionally handsome man named Tom (to be played by Hamilton) and a sexy, plus-sized woman named Helen, and the way society’s obsession with physical beauty affects their relationship. Cook will play Tom’s friend and co-worker, Carter, while Stiles will play Jeannie, Tom’s former girlfriend. The role of Helen is still to be cast.

Stiles most recently appeared on Broadway in Oleanna and her prior stage credits include Twelfth Night and Fran’s Bed. She recently guest starred on the Showtime series Dexter.

Cook, who will be making his Broadway debut, is one of today’s most prolific stand-up comedians. His film credits include My Best Friends Girl, Dan in Real Life, Good Luck Chuck, Mr. Brooks, and Employee of the Month. On television, Cook has hosted Saturday Night Live twice, and created, directed and starred in HBO’s nine-part comedy documentary series, Tourgasm, among other projects.

Hamilton has previously appeared on Broadway in The Coast of Utopia, Proof, and Brighton Beach Memoirs. He received a Drama Desk nomination for Hurlyburly, and is slated to appear in CSC’s upcoming production of Three Sisters.
