Broadway Producers Garth Drabinsky and Myron Gottlieb Convicted of Fraud

Garth Drabinsky and Myron Gottlieb, who co-founded the Broadway production company Livent Inc., have been convicted of two counts of fraud and one count of forging a document, according to published reports.

The ruling was made by Ontario Superior Court Justice Mary Lou Benotto. Authorities began investigating the Toronto-based company a decade ago, and Livent declared bankruptcy in 1998 following the allegations.

Livent won a Tony Award for producing Fosse, and was Tony-nominated as the producer of Ragtime and associate producer of Parade.
