Broadway League Annouces 2008 Attendance Figures

The Broadway League has announced figures for the 2008 calendar year, spanning December 31, 2007 through December 28, 2008.

Total grosses for the period were $941 million, with paid attendance at 12.32 million people, and 75.6 percent of all seats filled. These figures exclude Young Frankenstein, which did not report its statistics to the league.

Due to a number of a factors, including the 19-day strike, exact comparisons could not be made to 2007; however, the League said the 2008 numbers were virtually the same.
