Broadway: Beyond the Golden Age Documentary to Debut at the Palm Beach International Film Festival
The festival will present two-time Tony-winning actor Robert Morse with a Lifetime Achievement Award
Documentary filmmaker Rick McKay will offer an early sneak preview of his upcoming film, Broadway: Beyond the Golden Age, on Monday, April 7, at the Palm Beach International Film Festival. The film is a sequel to his 2004 film Broadway: The Golden Age, which won at PBIFF 10 years ago. His work-in-progress sequel is due for theatrical release in the fall of 2014.
This year's festival will present a Lifetime Achievement Award to two-time Tony Award winner Robert Morse (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Mad Men), one of the Broadway legends featured in McKay's films. PBIFF will also honor McKay with the Visionary Award, celebrating his ongoing achievement of documenting and preserving the history of Broadway through his film trilogy, featuring restored archival footage and in-depth interviews with over 300 stage legends.
The April 7 screening will be followed by an audience Q&A and award presentation. An additional screening will be held on Wednesday, April 9, also to be followed by a Q&A with McKay.
