Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS raised $286,900 during the third edition of Broadway Bets on May 15 at Sardi's Restaurant.

Produced by and benefiting BC/EFA, Broadway Bets gives the theater community an opportunity to play in a friendly Texas Hold 'em tournament. Players included Hank Azaria, Alex Brightman, Michael Cera, Brian Koppelman, Steve Martin, Michael Park, David Schwimmer, Lucas Steele, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, Tony Yazbeck, Gavin Creel, Chris Cooper, Jayne Houdyshell, Laurie Metcalf, Condola Rashad, Andy Frankenberger, Erik Seidel, Vanessa Selbst, and Ingrid Weber.

The event is cochaired by Elliot Greene, executive vice president of the Shubert Organization, and Marla Ostroff, executive vice president of arts and theatre at Ticketmaster. Paul Libin, executive vice president of Jujamcyn Theaters and BC/EFA board of trustees president, and Robert E. Wankel, president and co-CEO of the Shubert Organization and BC/EFA executive vice president, serve as founding cochairs.

Last year’s tournament raised a record-breaking $247,800 as Jamesin Seidel, a guest of Tony nominee Tony Yazbeck, bested Bryan LaPlant and a final Broadway Bets table of eight other players to win the title of Broadway Bets champion.
