Bridgewater and DeLaria Join Marcovicci to Host First Annual Nightlife Awards

Dee Dee Bridgewater (The Wiz, The 1940s Radio Hour) and Lea DeLaria (On the Town, The Rocky Horror Show) will join the previously announced Andrea Marcovicci as co-hosts of the first annual Nightlife Awards celebrating the best cabaret, jazz, and comedy performances of 2002.

The awards will be presented in a gala ceremony at The Town Hall, 123 West 43rd Street, at 8 pm on Monday, January 27. Scheduled presenters and performers include Lewis Black, John Bucchino, Charles Busch, Liz Callaway, John Cullum, Tovah Feldshuh, Judy Kuhn, John McDaniel, Donna McKechnie, Donna Murphy, James Naughton, Phylicia Rashad, David Sanborn, Stephen Schwartz, KT Sullivan, and Lillias White. Aside from competitive awards in many categories, special awards will be presented to Robert Klein (Living Legend of Comedy), Sonny Rollins (Living Legend of Jazz), and Julie Wilson (Living Legend of Cabaret).

Entertainment for the evening will also be provided by Todd Barry, Kelly Briggs & Jerry Christakos, the cast of Rick Crom’s What In The World?, Susie Essman,
Charles Lindberg & Scott Ailing, Julie Reyburn, Lennie Watts, and others. Tickets to the Nightlife Awards are available at $25, $50, and $75. For further information, click here.
