Jerome Preston Bates, P.J. Brown, Bill Dawes, Matthew Del Negro, Mike Doyle, Sherri Parker Lee, and Brette Taylor will join the previously announced Chad Lowe in the New York premiere of D.M.W. Greer’s Burning Blue Off-Broadway at the Samuel Beckett Theatre, 410 West 42nd Street.

The play chronicles the aftermath of a fatal accident involving three F-18 jets, as a lieutenant and his men become embroiled in a modern-day witch hunt engendered by the military’s controversial “Don’t Ask/Don’t Tell” policy. Author Greer is a third generation naval aviator and a U.S. Naval Academy alumnus. Burning Blue, his first play, had its world premiere in London as a fringe presentation at The King’s Head before transferring to the Theatre Royal Haymarket in the West End; the show became a major hit and received two Olivier Awards.

Directed by John Hickok and produced by George DeMarco, with set and costume design by Beowulf Boritt, lighting design by Phil Widmer, and sound design by director John
Hickok, the Off-Broadway production of Burning Blue will begin previews at the Beckett on September 29 and is set to open officially on October 16. The producers are advertising a “strictly limited engagement” through December 15.
