Bonner, Carroll, LaVoy Set for Signature’s Home

Tracey Bonner, Kevin T. Carroll, and January LaVoy will star in the Signature Theatre Company’s production of Samm-Art Williams’ Home, being presented as part of its Negro Ensemble Company season, to run November 11-January 4. The production, which will open officially on December 7, will be directed by Ron OJ Parson.

Carroll will portray Cephus Miles, who leaves behind his family farm in North Carolina to seek refuge and prosperity in the north. The play spans over two decades, and the other actors play more than 25 characters. The show, which played on Broadway in 1980-1981, received a Tony Award nomination for Best Play.

Bonner’s stage credits include The Talented Tenth, Joe Turner’s Come and Gobne, and How the Kanye West Was Won. Carroll has appeared on Broadway in Take Me Out, 45 Seconds From Broadway, Bring in ‘Da Noise, Bring in ‘Da Funk and appeared in Signature’s production of Seven Guitars. LaVoy starred in Signature’s production of Two Trains Running and stars as Noelle Ortiz on the ABC daytime drama One Life to Live.
