Blum, Burton, Latessa, Van Patten, et al. Set for The Cherry Orchard
The Cherry Orchard focuses on Madame Ranevskaya, who returns to Moscow from Paris to find her estate about to be auctioned and her unwillingness to save her family by selling pieces of her beloved orchard to a local businessman.
The show's design team will feature Ralph Funicello (sets), Robert Morgan (costumes), Donald Holder (lighting), Drew Levy (sound), and Michael Friedman (original music). Nelson is the author of such plays as The Dead, for which he won the Tony Award, Some Americans Abroad, and Frank's Home, which is currently playing at Chicago's Goodman Theatre and which will transfer in January to New York's Playwrights Horizons. Martin is currently represented on Broadway by Butley, which first premiered at the Huntington.
