Blazer, Morrison, Rowat, et al. to Join Cerveris and Murphy in LoveMusik

The full cast and creative team has been announced for the new Broadway musical LoveMusik, based on the lives of Kurt Weill and his wife Lotte Lenya, which will begin performances at Manhattan Theatre Club’s Biltmore Theatre on April 12 and will open officially on May 3. The production will be directed by Harold Prince, with musical staging by Patricia Birch.

In addition to the previously announced cast of Michael Cerveris as Kurt Weill, Donna Murphy as Lottle Lenya, David Pittu as Bertolt Brecht, and John Scherer as George Davis, the show will feature Judith Blazer, Edwin Cahill, Herndon Lackey, Erik Liberman, Ann Morrison, Graham Rowat, Rachel Ulanet, and Jessica Wright. The creative team includes Beowulf Borritt (sets), Judith Dolan (costumes), Howell Binkley (lighting), Duncan Edward (sound), and Jonathan Tunick (orchestrations).

The show will feature a book by Alfred Uhry, and music by Weill and such lyricists as Maxwell Anderson, Howard Dietz, Ira Gershwin, Oscar Hammerstein II, Langston Hughes, Alan Jay Lerner, Ogden Nash, Elmer Rice, and Brecht.
