Billy Crystal Will Bring 700 Sundays Back to Broadway

A limited engagement will begin performances November 5 at the Imperial Theatre.

Actor/comedian Billy Crystal will return to Broadway this fall in a nine-week-only limited engagement of his acclaimed solo show, 700 Sundays, to play the Imperial Theatre from November 5 to January 5. The production, directed by Des McAnuff, will open on November 13.

The autobiographical two-act play, which features additional content by Alan Zweibel, explores Crystal’s youth and experiences growing up on Long Island and within Manhattan’s jazz world, in which his father, Jack, worked in multiple capacities. The title refers to the amount of time Billy and Jack had together; Jack died when Billy was fifteen years old, shortly after an unresolved argument between the two.

700 Sundays grossed over $21 million in its initial Broadway run at the Broadhurst Theatre in 2005. Winning the 2005 Tony Award for Special Theatrical Experience and the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Outstanding Solo Performance, the show subsequently played sold-out engagements across the United States and Australia. The production also inspired a memoir of the same title.

The production features scenic design by David F. Weiner, lighting design by David Lee Cuthbert, projection design by Michael Clark, and sound design by Steve Canyon Kennedy. It is produced by Janice Crystal, Larry Magid and Face Productions.

Tickets will go on sale at a later date. For more information, click here.
