Billy Crudup, Kirsten Dunst, Mark Ruffalo Set for Red Light Winter Film

Billy Crudup, Kirsten Dunst, and Mark Ruffalo will star in a film adaptation of Adam Rapp’s Pulitzer-nominated play, Red Light Winter, according to IndieWire.

The plot of the play focuses on former college buddies who visit Amsterdam and find themselves thrown into a bizarre love triangle with a beautiful young prostitute.

Crudup received a Tony Award for his work in Tom Stoppard’s The Coast of Utopia. Among his other Broadway credits are his Tony-nominated performances in The Pillowman and The Elephant Man. He also starred Off-Broadway in Rapp’s The Metal Children, with film credits including Watchmen, Eat, Pray, Love, and Almost Famous.

Dunst is perhaps best known for playing the role of Mary Jane in the Spider-Man movies, with other film credits including Interview with the Vampire, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Ruffalo received a Tony Award nomination for Awake and Sing! with other stage appearances including The Moment When and This Is Our Youth Off-Broadway. He received an Academy Award nomination for The Kids Are All Right and has been seen in other movies such as You Can Count on Me and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, as well as the forthcoming The Avengers.

Filming is set to begin in January.
