Bill T. Jones, Groovaloo, Rioult, et al. to Play NYC’s Joyce Theater

Tony Award winner Bill T. Jones will bring his Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company to the Joyce Theater, November 10-15. Jones won the Tony for Spring Awakening and is the choreographer and director of the upcoming Broadway musical Fela!.

As previously reported, the Hip-Hop dance troupe The Groovaloos will perform at the Joyce Theater in their original show, Groovaloo, to be presented September 15-27. The production, which is created by Bradley Rapier and veteran Broadway performer Danny Cistone, features a 14-member cast, and is based on the dancers’ own experiences.

Among the other companies that will appear at the Joyce during 2009-2010 will be Ernio Greco/PC, Lucinda Childs, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, Garth Fagan Dance, Complexions, Ballet Hispanico, Rasta Thomas, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Richard Alston Dance Company, Rioult, Gyor National Ballet, and Parsons Dance Company.
