Broadway stars Laura Benanti, Tituss Burgess, Brian d'Arcy James, and Alice Ripley will star in the Signature Theatre's concert musical of Jason Robert Brown's Songs for a New World, May 16-17, at the Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda, Maryland. The production will be directed by Michael Baron, Signature's associate director.

This 16-song revue was first produced at New York's WPA Theater in 1995 and has enjoyed many regional productions. Among its now well-known songs are "Stars and the Moon," "I'm Not Afraid of Anything," and "Surabaya Santa." Brown is also the composer-lyricist of Parade, for which he won the Tony Award, The Last 5 Years, and 13.

Benanti is a two-time Tony Award nominee for Swing! and Into the Woods and has also starred in the Broadway productions of The Wedding Singer, Nine, and The Sound of Music. Burgess' Broadway credits include Jersey Boys and Good Vibrations and he will co-star next season in The Little Mermaid. D'Arcy James earned a Tony nomination for Sweet Smell of Success; his other Broadway credits include The Apple Tree, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and Titanic. Ripley received a Tony nomination for Side Show and was also seen on Broadway in Sunset Boulevard and The Who's Tommy.
