Ben Vereen and Anita Gillette Receive 2014 Bistro Awards

The honors will be presented at a gala on March 4.

Ben Vereen and Anita Gillette are among the winners of the 29th Annual Bistro Awards, to be presented on March 4 at Gotham Comedy Club.

Vereen, a Tony Award winner best known for his performance as the Leading Player in the original Broadway production of Pippin, is set to receive the Bob Harrington Lifetime Achievement Award. Gillette, a veteran of stage and screen, will be honored for her engagement at the Metropolitan Room.

Additional honorees include Nathan Chang (Ira Eaker Special Achievement Award); William Blake (for his engagements at Birdland and Joe's Pub…at the Public Theater); Sharón Clark (Metropolitan Room); Robert Creighton (54 Below); Eric Yves Garcia (Chez Josephine and the Laurie Beechman Theatre); Thomas Honeck and Lisa Moss (The Duplex); Jillian Laurain (Metropolitan Room; Tanya Moberly (Don't Tell Mama); Vickie Phillips (Don't Tell Mama), Bria Skonberg (Café Carlyle/Iridium/Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, Jazz at Lincoln Center); Elaine St. George (Outstanding Female Vocalist, Don't Tell Mama); Amy Wolk (The Duplex); Karen Wyman (Metropolitan Room); and WBGO for outstanding programming.

The Bistro Awards Gala will be emceed by singer Jeff Harnar and directed by Shellen Lubin.
