Bebe Neuwirth to Host Bessie Awards

Tony Award winner Bebe Neuwirth will host the Bessie Awards, which honor people in the fields of choreography, design, and performance, on Monday, October 24 at the Apollo Theatre, according to The New York Times.

The honors, which are technically known as New York Dance and Performance Awards, were established in 1983.

Trisha Brown, the renowned modern dance choreographer, will receive a special award for lifetime achievement and 14 other awards will be handed out at the ceremony.

Neuwirth received Tony Awards for her work in Chicago and Sweet Charity. She most recently appeared on Broadway in The Addams Family.
