BC/EFA Easter Bonnet Competition Set for April 21-22

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS has announced the dates for its 17th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition. The event will take place on Monday, April 21 at 4:30pm and Tuesday, April 22 at 1:30pm at the New Amsterdam Theatre (214 West 42nd Street), home of The Lion King.

This year’s competition will feature performances and presentations by the companies of more than 20 Broadway, Off-Broadway, and touring productions. The company that comes up with the best original bonnet design wins an award, but the most important honor of the event goes to the show that has raised the most money for BC/EFA. Each year around this time, post-performance collections are taken up to raise funds for the organization, which supports AIDS-related causes across the U.S.

Tickets for the Easter Bonnet Competition are $350 (VIP seating) and $200 (priority viewing); phone BC/EFA at 212-840-0770, ext. 268 to purchase. General admission tickets priced at $20, $35, and $75 will go on sale beginning at 10am on Monday, April 16; visit the BC/EFA offices (165 West 46th Street, Suite 1300) or call 212-840-0770, ext. 268 to purchase.
