Barrington Stage has announced full casting for its production of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s Sweeney Todd, which will kick off the season, June 17-July 17, with an opening on June 23. Julianne Boyd will direct, with Darren R. Cohen as musical director.

In the musical, barber Sweeney Todd schemes with lovesick shopkeeper Mrs. Lovett to avenge his family in the most demented fashion. A nine-piece orchestra will accompany the 17-member company. The Barrington Stage production restores Judge Turpin’s song “Johanna.”

Newly announced cast members include Branch Woodman as Pirelli, along with ensemble members Traci Bair, Paul Betz, Analisa Leaming, John Rapson, Jaime Rosenstein, Amanda Salvatore, Billy Shaw and Allan Snyder.

The creative team includes Wilson Chin (scenic design), Jen Moeller (costume design), Phillip S. Rosenberg (lighting design), and Ed Chapman (sound design).
