Barbra Streisand's Newest Album Release Me to Be Issued on Vinyl and CD
Two of the 11 tracks will come from an unreleased sequel to Streisand's The Broadway Album: "Home" from The Wiz and a medley of "How Are Things In Glocca Morra?" (from Finian's Rainbow and "Heather On The Hill" (from Brigadoon).
Other selections on the album will include "Didn't We" written by Jimmy Webb, which was recorded in 1970 for an unreleased album project titled The Singer; the standard "Willow Weep For Me" - an unreleased track recorded in 1967 for Simply Streisand; a 1971 recording of Randy Newman's "I Think It's Going Rain Today," which also features the songwriter on piano; and an unreleased studio version of "With One More Look At You" from A Star Is Born.
Streisand appeared on Broadway in I Can Get It For You Wholesale and Funny Girl, for which she received Tony Award nominations, and later received a special Tony Award.
She won the Academy Award for Funny Girl, and her many other films include Funny Lady, Yentl, and Nuts. She has also won numerous Grammy and Emmy Awards and is a recipient of the Kennedy Center Honor.
Streisand will be embarking on a concert tour throughout the U.S. and Canada this fall.
