Michael John LaChiusa's off-Broadway musical Hello Again is headed to the big screen, and according to several reports, six-time Tony winner Audra McDonald is in talks to star.

Inspired by Arthur Schnitzler's play La Ronde, Hello Again explores the love affairs of 10 different characters throughout the 20th century. First produced off-Broadway at Lincoln Center Theater in 1993, with a cast that included Donna Murphy, Carolee Carmello, John Cameron Mitchell, and Malcolm Gets, it was revived by the Transport Group in 2011 with a cast made up of Max von Essen, Elizabeth Stanley, Alexandra Silber, Bob Stillman, and Nikka Graff Lanazrone, among others.

Tom Gustafson, the casting director of such films as Batman Begins and Pirates of the Caribbean, is expected to direct a screenplay by Cory Krueckeberg. There is no official word on McDonald's, or any, casting.

McDonald, who currently stars in Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill at the Circle in the Square Theatre, has appeared in LaChiusa's musicals Marie Christine and Send (who are you? I love you).
