Atlantic Theater Company's 2004-05 Season Slate Includes Allen and Mamet Premieres logo

The Atlantic Theater Company has announced its 2004-05 season, which will begin with a double bill of Tina Howe's new translations of Eugene Ionesco's The Bald Soprano and The Lesson (September 1-October 10), directed by Carl Forsman. Woody Allen, whose Writer's Block was presented by the Atlantic last year, will return to the theater to direct the world premiere of his new play A Second Hand Memory (November 3-January 9). Artistic director Neil Pepe will direct the world premiere of David Mamet's new courtroom comedy Romance (February 9-April 3) and the season will end with Mary Steenburgen starring in Tom Donaghy's new adaptation of Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard (May 25-July 3) under the direction of Scott Zigler.

Since its inception in 1985, the Atlantic has presented more than 90 plays including the Tony Award-winning production of The Beauty Queen Of Leenane, the American premieres of Blue/Orange and Dublin Carol, the New York premiere of The Cider House Rules, and revivals of American Buffalo, Edmond, Mojo, Minutes From The Blue Route and Hobson's Choice. The company's regular troupe of writers and actors includes David Mamet and William H. Macy.
