The Atlantic Theater Company has extended its world premiere production of Storefront Church, written and directed by John Patrick Shanley. The play is the first production to return to Atlantic’s main stage Linda Gross Theater in Chelsea following completion of a $8.3M renovation. The show opens tonight, June 11 and will now play an additional week, closing Sunday, July 1.

Bob Dishy, Giancarlo Esposito, Zach Grenier, Ron Cephas Jones, Jordan Lage, and Tonya Pinkins comprise the cast.

The play concerns a Bronx borough President (Esposito) who is forced, by the mortgage crisis into a confrontation with a local minister (Cephas Jones). The work is the final installment of Shanley’s trilogy called Church and State, which began with the Pulitzer Prize-winning Doubt.

The production features scenic design by Takeshi Kata, costume design by Alejo Vietti, lighting design by Matthew Richards and sound design by Bart Fasbender.
