Anthony Rapp et al. to Receive Bailiwick Repertory’s Trailblazer Award

Former Rent star Anthony Rapp, TheaterMania contributor Jonathan Abarbanel, and Coya Paz, co-artistic director of Chicago’s Teatro Luna, are among the announced recipients of Bailiwick Repertory’s 2006 Trailblazer Awards, to be presented at 7:30pm on Monday, December 4.

The Trailblazer Awards honor members and friends of Chicago’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender community who have had an impact in the fields of arts, journalism, community activism, and sports. Past recipients include Charles Busch, Larry Kramer, Terrence McNally, and Bruce Vilanch.

The theme of this year’s awards ceremony is “We All Have Songs, We All Have Stories.” The event will feature Bailiwick members performing selections from Rent, My Favorite Year, The Christmas Schooner, and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. A pre-show dinner reception and post-show dessert reception will be held at Joey’s Brickhouse.
