Anne Hathaway, Dustin Hoffman, Nicole Kidman, et al. to Be Featured on Audible Audiobooks

Stage and screen stars Annette Bening, Anne Hathaway, Samuel L. Jackson, Nicole Kidman, Dustin Hoffman, Meg Ryan, and Susan Sarandon are among the artists who will be recording a new line of audiobooks for Audible.com, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The books will be released during the course of 2012.

The new series will concentrate on famous works of literature. Among the titles scheduled to be recorded are Virginia Woolf’s Mrs. Dalloway read by Bening; To the Lighthouse, read by Kidman; L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz; featuring Hathaway, Chester Hines’ A Rage in Harlem, read by Jackson; Jerzy Kosinski’s Being There, read by Hoffman; William Saroyan’s The Human Comedy, featuring Ryan; and Carson McCullers’ A Member of the Wedding, with Sarandon.


Other artists who will be taking part in the project include Kim Basinger (The Awakening by Kate Chopin), Jennifer Connelly (The Sheltering Sky by Paul Bowles), Colin Firth (The End of the Affair by Graham greene), Naomi Watts (Summer by Edith Wharton), and Kate Winslet (Emile Zola’s Therese Raquin).
