Yes, that School of Rock. The one starring Jack Black and that girl from Nickelodeon. In an era when every film with a remotely musical theme eventually finds itself on Broadway, all we can say is, why the heck not?

Sir Andrew recently broke the news to CBC Radio about his plans, announcing his excitement for having gained the rights to "that movie School of Rock." Describing the project as "a musical about kids playing the guitar," he expressed a desire to expand on the film's musical components. "There may be songs for me in it, but it's obviously got songs in it as it stands" he explained.

School of Rock was released in 2003 and centers around a mooching singer/guitarist named Dewey Finn (Black). He poses as a substitute teacher in order to make extra money but eventually inspires his entire class of youngsters with the power of rock 'n' roll.

Stay tuned for more information about School of Rock's future on stage. Could Jack Black soon be making his Broadway debut? Never rule it out…Clearly anything is possible in the world of Webber.
